Blacks Creek
I just wanted to thank everyone at Blacks Creek for making such a good quality pack, I am a very hard core hunter and expect a lot from my packs and have received everything I hoped for and then some with Blacks Creek packs!
This weekend was my first chance to really put the Jim Horn Canadian to the test and wow, what a pack. This bad boy had 25 pounds of gear and 65 pounds of antler and I could not find one negative thing to say about it. I just kept finding new ways to strap on antlers. The rifle holders work amazingly well for smaller sheds and the bow holder can hold the largest sheds I found on the mountain!
I have used the Badlands 2800 in the past and between the two packs
There is no comparison.
The Canadian is far more versatile, comfortable, and has 3 times more compression straps to help carry larger loads in the expansion chamber!
Thanks again Blacks Creek, you have a hunter for life!

Blacks Creek
My name is Kevin Ray, I talked to you at the ata show this year and in the past. You told me that you were going to redo your web page and, for me to send you some pictures so here are some of the pictures I've got. The turkey pictures show the solo pack, that I take ever time I go turkey or deer hunting. I don't go to the woods without my solo pack I can pack everything that I need in it know matter what the season. In my opinion there's not a better pack made. Thanks for a great product.

I just wanted to say Thank you and tell you what a great product you are producing. I recently purchased an All American Jim Horn signature pack. I was begining to think the pack building industry didn't have my same need's. I live and hunt in Northern California, Western Nevada as many other western states.
I need a pack that would carry my gear into, as well out of the rugged areas we hunt. The areas I hunt, let's just say packing out is the only option.
With your pack I can carry a buck out of the deepest canyons without any hassels, I spend much of the year shed hunting and it's hard to find a pack you can load up Forty pound's of Elk sheds on and carry them out and be comfortable.
On your pack's first outing I was able to put 16 Mulie shed's on it with room to spare, what a great product.
Thank you!

BARRY SWEIGART
Hello!
My name is Barry Sweigart and I am a licensed guide and outfitter in Arizona . I also am a member of Bass Pro Shops Pro Hunting Team and the Redhead Field Staff. I thought I would drop you a quick note and tell you how happy I was with my new Jim Horn Canadian Pack. After spending all spring and summer using the pack for scouting it was time to put the pack to the real test; a solid 30 days of hunting. I started by guiding elk hunters in the mountains of Arizona , and then it was off to Wyoming to help three hunters fill mule deer and antelope tags. I carried this pack through hot, cold, monsoon rains in Arizona , and a snow storm in Wyoming ; across the volcanic rock ground conditions of Arizona and up and down steep terrain in Wyoming . My pack was weighted down the entire time and often times became a topic of conservation when encountering other hunters in the field.
The short of the story is the pack lasted through thick and thin and under less than desirable conditions. It even held up to having a large antelope buck strapped to it while bearing about 50 pounds of gear including water, snacks, optics, survival gear, field dressing equipment, camera’s, and extra clothes!
I love the pack! |

Just wanted to let you know that I truly believe my “Alaskan” pack to be the finest and best pack that I have ever owned and hunted with in my lifetime. I just got back from my long awaited Nevada Desert Bighorn hunt, on which I used the pack extensively. I was able to carry all my food, gear, spotting scope, tripod, bow and rifle, and water bladder easily while pursuing Desert Bighorns through some of the roughest terrain that Nevada has to offer. Never once did I have a problem with the pack or with it hurting my back, shoulders, or arms as many of the other packs that I’ve owned through the years have. I honestly was amazed that I didn’t have the soreness that I had come to expect from other packs, after a day’s worth of hiking around.
My real excitement and praise for the pack came after I had to get my sheep off of the cliffs that he ended up expiring on. I was able to pack all of my sheep, including its quarters (bone and all), every scrap of meat, and the entire hide, head, and horns into and on the pack. I was easily and comfortably able to carry all of that weight off of the cliffs, through the shale slides, and off the mountain to my base camp without ending up with a broken or sore back or neck. Before the hunt I was extremely worried about having to make two trips to get everything out and/or about the pack making my back sore, as so many packs had done for me before, neither of which ended up being a problem whatsoever.
Not only is the pack perfectly designed with the right amount of storage compartments, straps, and zippers, but it is also beautiful visually. I got many comments about it looking awesome from my friends and other hunters. My only regret is that I wish that I would have purchased it before my archery mule deer hunt earlier this year!!!
Thanks a million for making such a wonderful pack affordable for a regular guy like me, which is almost unheard of in the hunting gear and clothing market today. I’m sure that I will be getting many more years of use and many more awesome adventures out of this pack. Keep up the good work!!!
P.S. A buddy of mine who helped me on my hunt was using his recently purchased Badlands 4500 pack (that he’d been bragging about, but hadn’t actually used yet) and was complaining about it and complimenting my “Alaskan” pack the entire hunt…especially once he saw an entire sheep in it and how easy it was for me to carry all of that load.
P.S.P.S. Jim Horn is a great guy and role model in my opinion, too. You can’t go wrong with him. I met he and his wife at the Primos booth at the RMEF show in Reno last year and they were extremely nice.
