Jay & Sandy
Hey there!! Just wanted to send you a couple of pics and say thank you for the awesome pack. I have to tell you, I came really close to switching to another pack, not that the Canadian is bad or anything else was better.
Last year on my brothers elk hunt he killed a stomper on the archery hunt. We ended up carrying it out on packs, as do most elk that come off a mountain. Anyway we were short one man to make the trip in one whack, so I put both tenderloins and a hind quarter on the pack and strapped a front shoulder to the d ring on the shoulder strap. amazing enough the d ring held, but I tore the bow carrier when I cinched the hind quarter leg bone in the bow carrier on the back. Anyway long story short my bad, I was telling badlands about the amazing pack and they gave me a 4800 to try. The night before I left for this hunt I unloaded old faithful, (aka my Canadian) and started attempting to organize a new pack. I kinda felt like a cheap slut pardon my french, i think my Canadian wept a few tears as I dropped her along the side of my bed. She kinda laid their lifeless and I felt horrible, she had been everywhere with me. Arizona, Canada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and lord knows every nook and cranny of Utah. As she laid face down I started packing the new pack.
My first frustration came with the fact their was no pocket for a water bladder, just toss it in the main compartment i guess, well after a few cuss words on to the next. Batteries chapstick. ear peace, radio, knife, head lamp....... ah yea their is little compartments ALL OVER THE FING PACK!!! AHHHH no nice little zipper see through compartments, no bladder compartment, no D ring for radio/ front shoulder packer, no bow pack. I looked down at my old pack and with a smile tossed the new pack to the side of the bed with no remorse, and picked up old faithful. The next morning I found myself spotting and stalking this buck. And at 9:15 he had an arrow blaze through him at over 320 fps. As we loaded him on the pack as you can see in the one picture, I want you to know how grateful I was to have on old faithful. Your slogan should be "We got your Back" because you have mine!!
Thanks Brian Cook
